Healthy Chewy Bars

Did you know that Quaker Chewy Bars are made with 30 genetically engineered ingredients & 8 different types of sugar?! Plus, EWG testing frequently finds glyphosate (weed killer linked to cancer) in Quaker products. What is often regarded as a healthy snack is actually an ultra-processed high sugar nightmare.

You can make your own chewy bars at home with nutrient-dense ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry in less time that it would take you to drive to the grocery store. This recipe is going to be your new snacking staple!

Ingredients (makes 12 bars):

-2.5 cups organic rolled oats
-1 cup natural peanut butter (or any other type of nut butter. Use Sunbutter for a nut-free option!)
-2/3 cup pure maple syrup (or honey)
-3/4 cup of your favorite mix-ins (I did 1/4 cup raisins, 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds, & 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips)
-1 tsp vanilla
-2 tsp cinnamon
-pinch of sea salt

Directions:

-mix all ingredients in a bowl.

-press the dough down firmly into a parchment paper lined baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes.

-cut into slices & enjoy! keep leftovers in the fridge.
